About

Built by a safety practitioner, not a procurement platform.

Idoneity — from the Latin idoneitas, “fitness for purpose” — exists because contractor qualification deserves better than a scanned PDF and a lagging-indicator score.

Why Idoneity exists

Idoneity was built by safety practitioners who do the job this software serves — OSHA compliance programs, safety management systems, and contractor safety oversight for operating companies.

It started as the tool we wished our own clients had: a qualification platform where every score can be defended in front of an auditor, priced so a mid-sized operator can actually afford it, and built two-sided so contractors aren’t paying for the privilege of re-typing the same questionnaire for every hiring client.

Why the scoring works the way it does

The industry default is to rank contractors on TRIR — a lagging metric that peer-reviewed research has shown to be statistically unstable at the size of most contractor workforces. Rankings built on it are noise wearing a number.

Idoneity’s scoring engine weights validated leading indicators — pre-job planning, safety observations, leadership engagement — 2:1 over lagging metrics, following NIOSH-funded research on safety-management-system scoring and the INGAA Foundation’s published recommendation. Every weight is transparent, every input is auditable. Read the full argument →

What we believe
  • Scores must survive an audit. If you can’t show the weight behind a number, the number shouldn’t gate anyone’s work.
  • Contractors are customers, not inventory. One questionnaire, every hiring client — filled out once, kept current, owned by the contractor.
  • Pricing without the games. Flat annual tiers — your exact price in seconds, locked at your signup-year rate.
